What is snow blindness?

-Burns caused by snow in the eyes
-Eye irritation caused by UV exposure
-Ice crystals in the eyes

Snow blindness is a painful eye condition caused by exposing the eyes to ultraviolet (UV) rays reflecting off snow and ice. It is particularly prevalent at high altitude, and severe cold and dryness exacerbates it. The symptoms include blurry vision, pain, swelling and watery eyes, and they may not be apparent until some time has passed after exposure, much like a sunburn. Snow blindness is preventable by wearing sunglasses or goggles that block UV rays. Source: AAO.org

-Cheerios
-Raisin Bran

Answer: Special K breakfast cereal was first introduced to the United States in 1955. Special K used to be marketed primarily as a low-fat cereal that can be eaten to help one lose weight. From the late 70s to the mid-80s, Special K ran an advertising campaign telling us that if we could pinch more than an inch of flesh at our waists, we needed to go on the Special K diet. “Can you pinch more than an inch?” quickly became the Special K catchphrase. Their current advertisements now tout the product’s nutritional benefits, by using the slogan “Eat Special. Feel Special.”

Who is the only artist to refuse to accept a Grammy Award?

-Bob Dylan
-Kanye West
-Sinead O’Connor
-Prince

Answer: To date, Sinead O’Connor is the only artist to her refuse her Grammy Award. According to O’Connor, her refusal to accept her trophy was her way of boycotting the “false and destructive materialistic values” of the music industry. When queried about the decision, she maintained that her reasoning stemmed from the award show’s extreme commercialization. She passed up the honor for Best Alternative Music Performance for her 1990 album, I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got. It is the only time in Grammy history that an artist refused to accept an award.

A dog’s third eyelid is the “nictitating membrane” or “haw.” This lid is the same in all dogs, regardless of breed or size, although it may have pigmentation variations from breed to breed. Some are clear, while some may be cloudy. When the dog closes the nictitating membrane across its eye, it looks like the eye is rolling back in the dog’s head. Other animals with a third eyelid include birds, cats, fish, reptiles and camels. Source: AnimalPlanet.com
